Between July 2019 and February 2020, Riva Surveyors Ltd targeted elderly homeowners across Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk with cold calls and faked roof defects. The company was fined £48,891 and its senior salesman was sentenced to prison.
In February 2025 the director of an Essex-based company was convicted at Chelmsford Crown Court of three deception offences, after the company used fake moisture meter readings to sell spray foam to elderly homeowners.
